The Change From Knight & Day

By Darrell Dorsey

Two people meet and they couldn't be more different. One is getting ready to follow her normal routine in her typical day. The other is on the run, as is typical for his life. Not matter what the combination, Knight & Day brings together two popular characters that compliment each other. They find a way to make it work and being so different appears to have it's benefits. There is a bit of a reluctant feeling in the beginning, but time, people and situations change that.

Part of a good drama is the chase that comes with the story. You may not even know the exact reason for the chase right away, but you know it's important enough that the bad guys want the good guys out of the picture. With everyone running all over the place, you can throw in some cars or a boat or a motorcycle. A chase is a chase no matter what vehicle you're attempting to escape on. It's the people that add to the big picture.

Two strangers who are drawn together in a time of crisis end up developing a bit of a relationship. In some ways, this can bond them even if it initially drives them crazy. By experiencing life changing moments, a special type of story begins where the two of them become a part of each other. It's not hard to see it happening as they are forced to lean on one another for support.

As the story develops, you learn more about her life and his as well. He isn't as forthcoming with information as she is, so she's forced to follow clues to find out his past. The more time they spend together, the more she shares with him about her life. Each moment may be brief, but it's enough to keep you on your toes and wanting more from one scene and situation to the next.

Whatever your intentions are to see this movie, plan to get out of it what you desire. The comedy and drama are obvious in the promotions and follow throughout the movie. The idea behind these situations are to keep you entertained as well as guessing enough to find out how the story ends. With no preconceived notions, enjoy the movie for what it is.

As new times and places appear throughout the movie, you see the creativity that was put into each scene. From a chase scene on the slim streets of a busy city to a desolate island where no man has tarnished it with urban life. Many places are a simplistic place of peace and quiet that can only be found by traveling near and far. The colors that enhance the characters also bring out the imagination behind the creativity.

Sometimes the bad guys are able to get a step ahead. That's the only way this game works for them. When they get their hopes up and are able to continue fighting for what they want or what they need to get done, you are following each moment with them waiting for them to fail. It's always just a matter of time before they get caught or simply fail and can't do anything to change the situation. It just usually takes a lot of trial and error.

The title Knight & Day may not say enough to describe the movie, but it does say enough to peak your interest. Many women will want to see the apparent love story that will ensue and men will want to see how many guys or cars get blown up. It's a good thing this movie has both of those to keep the interest of a larger audience. - 40724
